Ellen: Steve Harvey Movie Review

Steve Harvey’s words of wisdom are coming to theaters, after his bestselling book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man was adapted into a Hollywood movie.

The book has been released in paperback and is back on the bestseller list. “It’s a good idea,” Ellen said of the book, which offers advice on life and relationships for women, from a male perspective.

That’s an interesting approach, because a lot of self help books seem to be written by and marketed toward women, and that doesn’t always create a level or balanced playing field.

The movie version of the book is funny, sweet, and touching, Steve said.

Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: Movie Premiere Date

“We wanted Brad Pitt and Denzel Washington. We didn’t have the budget,” Steve said. But the cast did great work, he said.

He called the project a series of incredible blessings, and he said that the advice in the book can really help women understand relationships. “We are so not what you think,” he said, inviting women to get a peek inside the male mind.

“It’s based on truth,” Ellen said. “That’s why I think it resonates with people, because everybody’s looking at it and getting something from it.”

Men Vs Women Relationship Advice

Steve said that he is happily married, so he has no ulterior motive for sharing this perspective. He noted that this wasn’t the case 10 years ago, but now that he is not using the male tricks and methods described in the book, he has nothing to gain or lose by putting them out there for women to think about.

The film version of Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man will be released in theaters April 20, 2012.

Ellen: Steve Harvey Practical Jokes

Ellen loves to play practical jokes on her guests. During a previous appearance in October 2011, she surprised Steve Harvey by having someone sneak up behind him during their interview.

“You have no idea the misery you caused in my life,” Steve said. His friends mocked him after seeing the appearance. They are still busting his chops about that joke.
