Ellen August 14 2012 Preview
Rob Lowe and Adam Lambert are special guests on Ellen August 14 2012. Rob will talk to Ellen about the new movies he’s in and Adam will perform one of his newest songs.
Rob Lowe: Knife Fight & Untouchable
Acclaimed actor Rob Lowe has been very busy for the last few years. He’s been playing Chris Traeger on the hit show Parks And Recreation for the last two years and held various roles on hit shows and movies.
He played Eddie Nero in the fourth and fifth seasons of Californication and Brad Kessler in Ricky Gervais’ hysterical film The Invention Of Lying. He even has two movies coming out this year! One is a political thriller called Knife Fight.
The other is a Lifetime movie called Drew Peterson: Untouchable. The film depicts the events surrounding the death of Kathleen Savio and the disappearance of Stacy Peterson. The film aired first on January 21 and Rob played Drew Peterson.
Rob is a really fun actor. His presence on camera is strong without overpowering his costars. Despite his professional success, his charm and good looks, Rob always seems to have a sense of humor about himself. He’ll gladly play the characters that the audience is going to hate and he’ll do it exceptionally well.
He especially good in The Invention Of Lying. He played the vapid, self centered dirtbag perfectly. If you haven’t seen the movie, check it out. It’s absolutely hilarious.
Adam Lambert To Perform New Song
Adam Lambert is a singer songwriter and stage actor who got his ticket to stardom via his appearance on the eighth season of American Idol. He’ll be dropping by Ellen to perform his hit new song, “Better than I know Myself” off his album Tresspassing.
Lambert’s songs are pretty standard synth pop, but he seems like a pretty cool guy. He said that he made the decision to audition on American Idol after he spent a week at the Burning Man festival in Nevada. He said he had a psychedelic experience in which he realized that anything he wanted to do, he had to make happen himself. That seems like a really cool and uncommon back story for a well groomed pop star. Props to him.
