Ellen: Emily Blunt Edge Of Tomorrow
Emily Blunt, besides starring in movies like The Devil Wears Prada and The Five-Year Engagement, has been quietly amassing a great body of sci-fi work. First there was The Adjustment Bureau, which didn’t get the credit it deserved, where Matt Damon’s character meets a woman played by Emily Blunt he wasn’t supposed to meet, causing a shadowy and mysterious organization to tear them apart at all costs. That movie was awesome. Then there’s Looper, another movie that doesn’t get enough recognition, about a man played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt who kills men from the future until the day he’s tasked with killing his future self. In that movie, Emily Blunt plays the mother of an extremely powerful telekinetic who will someday become a terrible person and kill a lot of people, but at the time the movie takes place is just a little boy. It’s a crazy movie and there’s a lot going on, but I think it’s awesome.
Now, Emily Blunt is adding to these movies with another entry: The Edge Of Tomorrow, a movie which sounds like a cheesy 1950s flick but is actually a big budget CGI fest. Tom Cruise plays a soldier fighting in the human army against aliens in a huge battle who gets the ability to start the day over and over again each time he dies. Emily Blunt plays a soldier who has the ability, too. The two of them team up to stop the aliens. This could be an awesome film. But it could also be terrible. Ellen: Ansel Elgort The Fault In Our Stars
Ansel Elgort has only been in three movies. Those movies just happen to be Carrie, Divergent, and The Fault In Our Stars, all of which are big-budget Young Adult films. How did an unknown actor get all those roles? I have no idea, but hopefully we’ll hear more about it on Ellen May 14, 2014. In the new film The Fault In Our Stars, Ansel Elgort acts opposite his Divergent costar Shailene Woodley as two young people who meet in a cancer support group and fall in love. In Divergent, Ansel Elgort played Shailene Woodley’s brother. That must’ve been a weird switch for them. In any case, Stars is highly anticipated and Ansel Elgort will be giving plenty of information about the film May 14, 2014 on Ellen.
