Ellen: Sophia Grace & Rosie “Starships” Performance
From England, little rap stars Sophia Grace & Rosie took on a new song from one of their favorite artists. Sophia Grace did the rapping, and Rosie brought the Hype and dance moves to their performance of Nicki Minaj’s song “Starships.”
“That was really good dancing,” Sophia Grace said, and I can’t disagree with that. These kids have moves.
Ellen asked what Sophia Grace and Rosie’s friends back in England think of all the fame and attention they’re getting here in America. She wondered if they are being treated differently now.
“Kind of,” Sophia Grace said. “They always want to play with me.”
Ellen: Sophia Grace & Rosie On America
Rosie did that thing she does, where she says something unintelligible to Sophia Grace. But anytime Ellen tries to engage her, Rosie shuts down.
That’s why Ellen turned back to Sophia Grace, to find out her favorite thing about America.
“I just love everything,” she said. “I love coming on the Ellen Show and the swimming pool where we live.”
Rosie said, “I love singing and dancing,” which is good because I guess they’re going to keep at this, at least for the next few weeks.
Ellen: Sophia Grace & Rosie Billboard
Ellen DeGeneres had a surprise in store to wrap up today’s show with Sophia Grace and Rosie. She showed an example of the banners and posters that hang outside the Warner Bros. studio lot.
For example, Ellen’s poster says, “You never know what funny can do,” and it features the time and channel where you can watch Ellen in Los Angeles.
To surprise Sophia Grace and Rosie, Ellen unveiled the new Sophia Grace and Rosie poster that will be hanging there for the month of May.
It reads: “Get ready to Tu-Tune In. Sophia Grace and Rosie all month long.” That’s pretty cool, even if I’m less than thrilled that they’ll be returning ‘all month long.’
As the credits rolled, the girls excitedly ran outside to see their poster in person. It really illustrated how short the girls are, being six and nine years old.
Sophia Grace & Rosie: What Do You Think?
What do you think of the Sophia Grace & Rosie phenomenon? They are truly talented, but are they getting overexposed on Ellen’s show? How much is too much? Their parents always seem to be with them at the show, so it seems they’re involved, which is a good sign.
