Ellen: Magician Justin Flom
On Ellen, magician Justin Flom showed us some of his trademark tricks, starting with an astonishing card trick. Before that, though, while taking a seat on stage, Justin realized that he had forgotten to spit his gum out before he came on the show. Pulling the piece of gum out and stretching back into a rough shape similar to a pre-chewed stick of gum, he snapped his fingers, and the gum appeared back in its original Juicy Fruit wrapper. How?
Before Justin came to the show, he picked up Ellen’s book, Seriously, I’m Kidding and, while leafing through it, used a card from an entirely different deck of cards as a bookmark. Once on stage, he asked Ellen to pick a card from a different deck of cards, this one being a 6 of diamonds, which Justin did not look at.
After she had drawn, Justin pulled a 4 of diamonds out of her book and asked Ellen if it was her card, which, of course, it was not. Justin quickly corrected this error by asking Ellen to focus heavily on her card. Slowly, and with a few waves of his hand, Justin Flom turned his 4 of diamonds into a 6 of diamonds right in front of the camera. Literally, it transformed right on screen.
Ellen: Justin Flom Burns Ellen’s Book
The next trick, illusion, mind blowing magic trick, whatever you want to call it, was quite a bit more complicated than the first one. Justin Flom took Ellen’s book and had her autograph a page—page 140. Taking the book receipt and wrapping it around a quarter that he had gotten in change from his purchase, Justin lit quarter, wrapped package on fire and watched as it quickly burned a hole to the center of the book, stopping mid-way through. Can you guess what page it stopped on? Page 140, right on top of Ellen’s autograph.
Ellen: Justin Flom Puts A YouTube Video To Rest
The last trick Justin Flom performed was trying to put an old YouTube myth that you could place a popcorn kernel in the center of a circle of cell phones and it would pop to rest by either proving or disproving it. Choosing random people from the crowd and Ellen’s staff, he had the people place their phones on the table and have them face each other. Justin set the kernels on top of a stack of books (just in case he had rigged the table with a heater), placed a glass on top of the kernels, and had everyone press call. After a short wait, the glass shot into the air and shattered on the ground, scaring the living daylights of everyone on stage.
Ellen Renovates A Couple’s Home
Two weeks ago, Ellen met a family from the small town of Hawkinsville, Georgia. After making payments on various expenses and taking care of their children, the couple had 52 cents to their name. Ellen decided that this could not stand, and gave them not only $20,000 with which to remodel their home with items from JC Penney Home. The couple went on a shopping spree, picked out some items, and JC Penney collected all the items and delivered them to their house in Georgia. Ellen brought them on the show again today to show them what the results of their shopping spree was. The couple saw their bedroom, their living room and their dining room, all of which were lovingly renovated by the store. As a parting gift, the couple was also given $15,000 to renovate other parts of their house with.
