Ellen: Flo Rida Only One Rida (Part 2) Review
It’s hard to believe that just five years ago, the music world didn’t know the work of Flo Rida, who’s now one of the biggest names in rap. Maybe that’s because, since his 2008 debut Mail On Sunday, his catchy tunes and lyrics have been bursting across the nation’s radio airwaves, and his songs are finding their way onto iPods, computers, and MP3 players everywhere.
His melodies are infectious, and he seems to have that musical knack for putting people in a good mood. As his name might suggest, Flo Rida hails from the state of Florida, but his music is now popular around the world.
Flo Rida’s newest album, Only One Rida (Part 2), due in July 2012, is a sequel to the Part 1 Album that was released in 2010. So far, the songs we’ve heard from the new album include “Wild Ones,” which he performed today on Ellen’s show, as well as “Good Feeling,” which you’ve surely heard getting airplay or online since its single release last fall.

We’ll have to wait and see how many awards he’ll rack up this time out. But isn’t international success and love from the music community its own reward? Can you rise to the level of fame that Flo Rida has achieved without appreciating that you have changed the landscape of modern music? I hope he’s enjoying the moment as much as fans of his music are.
