Ellen: Sean Hayes

You know him best as sidekick Jack McFarland from Will & Grace, but Ellen knows him as a friend. Now audiences are going to see him in a new role as one of the Three Stooges.

Sean Hayes lamented that he doesn’t know the words to Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” and Ellen promised to have someone look it up.

The two friends wondered why they don’t hang out more often, and proposed the idea of moving in together and co-starring in a reality show. But Ellen said Sean Hayes is busy producing shows like the NBC drama Grimm.

Ellen: Sean Hayes Grimm & Hot in Cleveland

“I am so impressed by that show, because there’s a lot of elements, a lot of components in that,” Ellen said of Grimm, which airs Friday nights and recreates the classic Grimm fairy tales. The show has already been renewed for a second season.

Sean Hayes is also one of the producers behind the popular TV Land series Hot In Cleveland, starring national treasure Betty White, along with sitcom veterans like Valerie Bertinelli, Wendy Malick, and Jane Leeves.

Ellen: Sean Hayes Aging Mother

Ellen recalled that Sean Hayes once told people about how his mother would scare people by removing her glass eye. Sean said his mother is still doing well, and they go out to Panera Bread every Friday night.

But he said his mother does have a few senior moments. She always orders the same thing at their dinners, but saves half her sandwich “for the children” and stresses that they’ll be late to a party. But in reality there are no children and no party; Sean said you just have to play along and agree with her.

Sean Hayes said that she is a Hoarder, but this bad habit is confined to her purse, which contains everything from underwear and artificial sweetener to butter packets and bubble wrap. She uses the bubble wrap to package her leftovers.

Ellen: Sean Hayes Dance Dares

Ellen and Sean have a mutual friend, actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth. Ellen explained that Kristin was supposed to do Dance Dares during her recent Ellen visit, but instead she became a victim of Ellen’s new favorite prank.

Sean Hayes bravely took on Ellen’s Dance Dare challenge, and Ellen showed the video shot backstage before the show, of Sean Hayes breaking it down, running, flailing, kicking, and getting wild in the hallways, the control room, and elsewhere around the studio.

I guess you have to give him credit for fully committing to the bit, but after seeing that I’m worried he might have given himself whiplash.
