Ellen: Rihanna Talk That Talk & Sexiest Woman Alive
Ellen talked to pop music superstar Rihanna about her new album, Talk That Talk and about being named the “sexiest woman alive” by Esquire magazine.
Ellen: Rihanna’s Crazy Hair
When Rihanna walked out onstage, her hair was outrageous. The sides of her head were white-walled. Yet, the top was long and woven into a bunch of bizarre curls that seemed reminiscent of Dr. Seuss. It was cool, but really weird.
Ellen: Rihanna’s Success
Ellen asked Rihanna how she feels to have become so tremendously successful in such a relatively short amount of time.
“There are moments that seem like they’ve just gone by, moments that you seem to forget,” Rihanna said. “But along the way, there’s these landmarks, these different achievements.”
Ellen: Rihanna Talk That Talk Review
Ellen pulled out a copy of Rihanna’s newest album, Talk That Talk. She asked Rihanna what she feels every time she releases a new album.
“You get overwhelmed by a host of emotions,” she said. “You’re nervous. You’re excited. You’re anxious.”
Rihanna said that she feels different about this album though.
“Somehow I’m very excited this time,” she said. “For some reason, I feel like I made that album with my fans. They experienced every moment with me. I can’t wait for them to own it, because it’s theirs.”
Ellen: Rihanna Esquire Sexiest Woman Alive
Ellen pulled out a copy of the latest issue of Esquire magazine, within which Rihanna was declared the “sexiest woman alive.” The cover photo was of Rihanna covered in strange wet green leaves.
“Were you rolling in a salad bowl or something like that?” Ellen asked. “Or is that seaweed? Were you swimming? What happened?”
Rihanna explained that the leaves were actually tobacco leaves. She said that the photo was taken by Russell James, whom she chose because he’s very good at making women look “hot.”
Ellen said that Russell must have been influenced by a photo shoot that she did. She showed a photoshopped picture of herself in a bizarre looking floral swimsuit.
“Wow…” Rihanna said. “I mean, this should have been the cover.”
