Ellen: Lenny Kravitz The Hunger Games
Ellen DeGeneres and millions of readers are eagerly anticipating the film adaptation of The Hunger Games, coming soon to theatres.
Actor and musician Lenny Kravitz is starring in the upcoming movie The Hunger Games, and Ellen said she is excited because she loves seeing his acting work.
What is The Hunger Games?
Lenny explained that the movie is set in the future, where a government controls its citizens and requires young adults to face off at the government’s capital. The children face off in a competition to the death.
Lenny Kravitz plays Cinna, the stylist for the character Katniss, played by co-star Jennifer Lawrence, “to help her forge an impression…so she has a better chance of surviving,” he explained.

Familiar faces abound among The Hunger Games cast, including Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, and Elizabeth Banks. It’s also based on a wildly popular book franchise, so it should be a big box office draw for a number of reasons. The film opens March 23 2012.

Ellen asked Lenny about reports that his hotel room became the party headquarters during filming. He also spent time rehearsing for his world tour, while entertaining his co-stars.
Lenny admitted that Woody Harrelson would try on his outfits from the movie’s wardrobe during their parties. “What did he bring when he came to the party?” Ellen asked.
“Medication,” Lenny answered.

Lenny Kravitz has also appeared in the films Zoolander and Precious. He said he is interested in working with prolific director Woody Allen.
Lenny also hopes that Ellen will set him up, because she always makes him promises about helping him find a mate. “Anybody would be willing to do that,” Ellen said.

She compared side by side photos from today and 20 years ago, noting that he doesn’t appear to have aged. Lenny Kravitz credited his good genes for his graceful aging.
“You’re handsome, damn it,” Ellen said. “I think you’re a good-looking guy.”
