Ellen: Lauren Graham Interview
The hilarious Lauren Graham is a talented actress who has starred on television in such shows as Gilmore Girls. Now, Lauren is one of the stars of the NBC drama Parenthood. Ellen and Lauren are also good friends, so when she joined Ellen for an interview, Ellen called her pal Lauren “one of the most energetic people I’ve ever met.”
Lauren Graham: Ellen & Portia’s Anniversary Party
To celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary, Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi threw a huge bash for their family and friends at their home this summer. Lauren was a guest at the party, and Ellen apologized for not being able to spend a lot of time with her. This year, the party had over 300 guests, so there wasn’t a lot of time for chatting.
In turn, Lauren felt like she needed to apologize for her “party anxiety.” She re-enacted the short, awkward conversation she had had with Ellen, which involved much talk on vegan cheese. “Now I remember why I didn’t talk to you,” Ellen joked. But Ellen herself also admitted to having some party anxiety. She promised that next year, the event will be much smaller!
Lauren said that Ellen’s part was “insane” because there were celebrities everywhere. On her left was Gwen Stefani, on her right was Ryan Seacrest, and she even got to chat with someone that Lauren referred to as her idol, Diane Keaton. Needless to say, the conversation was just as weird as the one with Ellen!
Lauren Graham: Parenthood Co-Star Ray Romano
This season on Parenthood, Ray Romano will guest star as Lauren’s character’s boss. Lauren revealed that she was a cocktail waitress at The Improv in New York when Ray was a comic, and she was a cocktail waitress at The Improv in Chicago when Ellen was a comic. “And now, here we all are!” she said.
Lauren described Ray as very funny, but “the opposite of energetic.” She also attended another celebrity party at Ray’s house in Malibu, to which he insecurely, haphazardly invited her. It seems like Lauren’s life is just filled with awkward moments!
Lauren Graham: Lost in Vietnam
Lauren loves to travel, and she recently took a bike trip to Vietnam with her dad. He had been to Vietnam in the late 60s and had always wanted to go back, but it was Lauren’s first time. The trip took an unexpected turn when Lauren and a friend that she had made on the trip got lost.
Lauren tried to communicate with people for help through charades, but (shockingly) it was no help. So, she decided to text her boyfriend (Parenthood co-star Peter Krause) in Los Angeles, even though she knew he couldn’t do anything. When she texted “Lost in Vietnam” he replied, “Sounds Like Fun!”
Eventually, Lauren was found, and lived to tell her harrowing tale. You can catch Lauren in Parenthood on Tuesdays at 10 PM on NBC.
