Chloe is 13 and Halle is 11. The girls said that they found out that they were going to be on Ellen‘s show while they were at the grocery store.

“Here’s the story,” Chloe said. “We were at the grocery store.”

“We were just roaming around the cheese section,” Halle said.

They said their mother got a call from their father, saying that representatives of Ellen‘s show had called and invited the girls to perform on the show. The girls said they started freaking out in the middle of the grocery store.

While telling the story, the girls played off each other seamlessly. When Chloe would end a sentence, Halle would start one, and vice versa.

“You realize that you talk at the same time and have the same thoughts?” Ellen asked the girls.

Chloe said that people often mistake the girls to be twins, which seemed indignant of.

“No, I’m older. She’s younger. Let’s get that straight,” she said.

Ellen: Halle & Chloe Bailey Sing Beyonce’s “Best Thing I Never Had”

Chloe and Halle performed their beautiful rendition of Beyonce‘s “Best Thing I Never Had,” from her album 4.

Their voices were absolutely gorgeous. It was amazing to see such young girls pull off a song that was originally done by such a powerful and soulful singer.

Though both girls had strong enough voices to carry the song while singing alone, their magic was most evident when they sang together. It was breathtaking. Usually singers have very different voices, but because Chloe and Halle are sisters, it sounds almost like one voice singing two different melodies.

After their performance, Ellen gave the girls four tickets to the American Music Awards so that they could actually meet Beyonce Knowles!
