Ellen: Actor Armie Hammer
How do you stay connected with your significant other? Armie Hammer told Ellen that he and his wife, who are about to celebrate their second wedding anniversary, have a four day rule.
“We can’t go more than four days without seeing each other,” he said. They find a way to see each other, despite their busy schedules, meeting either at the bakery they own in San Antonio, Texas, or at their home in Los Angeles.

Armie Hammer said that, while LA is oversaturated with bakeries, San Antonio is ripe with potential for the couple’s bakery venture. His wife Elizabeth is pursuing her dream of running a bakery.
“It’s hard to start a business, but it’s been worth it,” he said. The bakery is scheduled to open on March 31, 2012. Bird Bakery is in the Alamo Heights neighborhood of San Antonio, and you can find it online at birdbakery.com.
Armie added that the bakery features locally sourced building materials. Even the coffee and ingredients are from the San Antonio area.
Armie Hammer Cayman Islands
Armie Hammer credits his laid back personality to growing up in the Cayman Islands. “It’s perfect weather all the time,” he said.
The small town vibe means that everyone is friendly and if you’re rude to someone, you are going to have to see them again.

He contrasts this community feel to a larger city like New York or LA, where anonymity can sometimes breed harsh personalities.
“People do have a tendency to be nicer to one another,” Ellen said, recalling her upbringing in a small town.
Armie said that living on the islands involved a lot of waving at passing cars or pedestrians. But it wasn’t all friendly, because he said they still punished criminals by hanging when he lived there as a child.
Armie Hammer Career
After notable roles in The Social Network and J. Edgar, Armie Hammer is starring opposite Julia Roberts in the upcoming movie Mirror Mirror.
He is also shooting The Lone Ranger movie with Johnny Depp in New Mexico. He said the film shoot is taking place in the middle of nowhere.
