Ellen: Pre-Show Routine
Ellen was asked what she does before the show, and she said she likes to sit in her dressing room and listen to music. Today she listened to Adele’s “Set Fire To The Rain.” Her friend had to correct her with the song lyrics. It is “set fire to the rain,” not “set fire to Lorraine.”
There are other songs that trip Ellen up. Elton John’s “Bennie & The Jets?” Very few people realize the lyrics are “She’s got electric boots a mohair suit.” I don’t think I’ve ever sang the song right.
Ellen’s audience often gears up for the show by singing to top 40 hits. I may not know “Bennie & The Jets,” but they did a horrible butchering of Cee Lo’s “Forget You” and Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger.”
Ellen: ABC’s Splash Review
While there are a lot of crazy reality shows out there, you can’t really match the embarrassment of Splash. Never before has a reality show made me embarrassed to live in this country. Americans came up with that. Oh my.
The show has celebrities learning to dive and competing against one another. We’ve got Ndamukong Suh, Katherine Webb, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Nicole Eggert, Kendra Wilkinson, Louie Anderson, Drake Bell, E! personality Chuy and Keshia Knight Pulliam.
Oh, how these once mighty stars have fallen – I mean, will fall. Ellen came up with an equally embarrassing reality show idea, PopeStars. Thankfully this one isn’t real.
Ellen: Ky Sings Bruno Mars
Adorable four-year-old Ky can sing all of Bruno Mars’ “Grenade.” Ellen said when she was four all she could do was point at her belly button. Ky, Ellen wants you on her show!
Ellen: Australian Fans Arrive
On Wednesday, Ellen asked her Australian fans to flock to a special competition with their underwear on the outside of their clothes. She awarded four girls with the best looks and best Ellen rap with a trip to L.A. for a taping of her show.
