Dr Phil March 14 2013 Recap
On March 14 2013 Dr Phil tried to help Melissa avoid jail. She is charged with having intimate relations with certain minors and could face up to 15 years in prison. Her boyfriend T.J. is 17, going on 18, and was just 16 when they began being intimate. Dr Phil made it clear that Melissa is not the victim, but the predator and perpetrator in this case. She refused to see it that way and Dr Phil refused to help her.
Dr Phil: Melissa’s Relationship With a Minor, Will She Go To Prison?
Melissa and T.J. had an inappropriate relationship. It was rocky and they broke up a lot. While he said that he would wait for her if she went to jail, Dr Phil said he’s only 17. The couple have a four-month-old daughter and it was T.J.’s idea to have a baby with Melissa. They think that the world will see their love and agree that Melissa did not prey on T.J.
Dr Phil: Parents Unsupportive Of T.J.’s Relationship With Older Woman
T.J’s parents told Melissa what they really thought of her. His stepmom called her a pedophile and his father refused to support their relationship. He does support T.J. and the situation because of their baby. Melissa was outraged at T.J.’s father.
Dr Phil Melissa Is Not Victim & Will T.J. Wait For Melissa After Jail?
Melissa played the victim card. She said she felt like she had been set up when she thought she was going to get support. She insisted that she did not prey on T.J. and that everything was consensual. T.J.’s age makes him a minor and unable to give that kind of consent. Dr Phil refused to help Melissa because she wouldn’t come to terms with her situation.
