Dr Oz: Overcoming Baggage at the Miraval Spa and Resort
During the team-building exercises, one woman, Tamiko, tried to climb the wall with the help of the other participants. She was clearly nervous and did not complete the exercise. Instead, she ended up coming down the wall and was not able to breathe properly. The Dr Oz producers called the paramedics. They rushed Tamiko to the hospital, where she was admitted for dehydration. Five hours later, she was released.
Tamiko came right back to the wall to take it on. She told Dr Oz that if she was able to complete it, she would know the sky was the limit and she could do anything she put her mind to. She’d have the scars to remind her. “No one can take that away from me,” she said.
Dr Oz: Miraval Wall Climbing
Dr Oz and the other women said they believe in her. Before making the climb, Tamiko looked at the wall and said “I’m going to kick that wall’s butt!” (LOL!) Dr Oz asked her what was on the other side of the wall for her and Tamiko responded “the truth.” (Go Tamiko!)
Tamiko tackled that wall with a vengeance and the other ladies were there to help her. It took her a few moments to psyche herself up, but when she did, she started up that wall like a champ. Midway through, she had some stumbles, but she kept going. Finally, Tamiko reached the top and received a round of applause and a hug from Dr Oz. She screamed with delight at her accomplishment. (Kudos for Tamiko. I was really happy to see her conquer her fear!)
Dr Oz: Miraval Cactus Salad Recipe
At the top of the wall, she told Dr Oz that “she believed she could do this.” Because of this she felt she could take on any challenge, including her addiction to food.
That afternoon, they had a cooking demonstration with a top chef to find out how to prepare healthy meals. (Wasn’t feeling the cactus they cooked, though.) All the women said they loved the cooking lesson and the Cactus Salad Recipe they prepared.
