Dr Oz: Perimenopause
After an enlightening explanation of Functional Medicine & Diabesity, Dr Oz continued to gain insights about alternative treatments and therapies from his panel of experts. Next up was Dr Wendy Warner, who talked about the vicious cycle of weight gain and fatigue associated with Perimenopause. Check out the supplement suggestions and the Menopause Survival Smoothie recipe.
Dr Wendy said that she likes to spend time really getting to know patients and their health needs, so she can provide the best care possible. She likes to spend at least one hour with her patients during their visits. (That sounds awesome, for as much time as you typically spend in the waiting room.)
Perimenopause: Functional Medicine
Dr Warner said that the traditional medicine approach to Perimenopause involves tamping down the Estrogen levels, which cause hot flashes and insomnia. But she believes that the true root cause could have more to do with other issues affecting the body’s hormonal imbalance.
Could it be that your body improperly breaks down Estrogen? Is there an Adrenal issue that needs to be addressed?
Siberian Rhubarb Extract Review
Audience volunteer Wanda consulted with Dr Warner about her Perimenopause symptoms, which included hot flashes, insomnia and moodiness. Dr Warner believed that hot flashes are the result of imbalanced stress hormones, and are more likely to flare when you find yourself stressed out.
She suggested attempting to regulate this using a daily dosage of 4 mg Siberian Rhubarb Extract.
She also believed that Ashwagandha Supplements are useful, and recommended a twice daily 500 mg dosage. Dr Warner believed that taking these products together would provide optimal results.
