Dr Oz: Dollar Store Diet
Fitness and health are huge industries around the world, because they’re selling products that everyone wants. But when’s the last time you actually used that gym membership you’re paying for? Whether you prefer cooking at home, doing Healthy Fast Food, or even baking Coconut Palm Sugar Desserts to go with your Fat Burning Teas, you don’t have to go broke just to get healthy. Check out the Dollar Store Diet health products Dr Oz featured, including Chinese food containers, jump ropes, and even a Fat Blasting Spice Mix.
To help get you started on the path to affordable wellness, Dr Oz invited dietitian Kristin Kirkpatrick to share a few of her greatest secrets. Who said you have to pay through the nose to lose weight?
Dr Oz Fat Blasting Spice Mix Recipe
First up was Dr Oz’s Fat Blasting Spice Mix recipe, which is a great healthy addition to your favorite entrees.
- Cayenne Pepper
- Ground Ginger
- Combine the ingredients in equal parts.
- Use this as a rub to season meats, veggies, or favorite dishes.
Dr Oz also suggested Shredded Wheat for breakfast (honestly, I think I must have dreamed this entire episode). The high fiber cereal has just 155 calories in one serving, and it keeps you full all through the morning.
Dr Oz Dollar Store Diet: Chinese Food Containers
Grab some Chinese Food takeout containers the next time you swing by the dollar store. They hold about eight ounces, which is the perfect portion for packing a lunch or measuring your meals. However you decide to use them, these types of products get you in the mindset of portion control.
Dr Oz Dollar Store Diet: Ice Cube Tray
You can make a healthy frozen snack in a regular ice cube tray. Just combine your favorite frozen berries with lemon juice and water. Then stick them in the freezer, and a few hours later you’ll have a healthy frozen treat that’s rich in antioxidants and Vitamin C.
Dr Oz Dollar Store Diet: Rubber Bands
You can actually use everyday rubber bands to do arm curls. This is easy to do on the couch while you watch TV, or even during work while sitting at your desk. You might even have some rubber bands handy in that desk drawer. Every little extra bit of fat burned counts as progress, right?
Dr Oz Dollar Store Diet: Jump Rope
Don’t worry about shelling out for expensive gym equipment you might not even be sure how to use. Just grab a classic Jump Rope and get a full body workout. Jump Rope workouts burn as much as 100 calories in just 20 minutes. That’s a pretty good return for a quick exercise session.
