Dr Oz has talked in the past about making choosing healthy oils for cooking, but this time he shared some new ideas about the anti-aging and beauty benefits of oils, in addition to their diet benefits. Dr Oz shared healthy oils you can use for anti-aging, such as hemp seed oil butter spread, avocado oil dressing and peppermint oil for digestive health.

Dr Oz said that oils are an excellent source of antioxidants. He invited nutritionist Monica Reinagel to share some advice for choosing healthy oils at the store. She said to check the label for the words Expeller Pressed or Cold Pressed. That means the oils were manufactured without using chemical solvent or heat, which can degrade an oil’s health benefits and overall quality.

Dr Oz: Hemp Seed Oil Review

Hemp Seed Oil is a great antioxidant choice for cooking, according to Dr Oz. He said the oil has a rich, nutty flavor and helps to reverse hardened arteries. It could support heart health over many years. Hemp Seed Oil is also good for lowering blood pressure and hypertension, and is rich in Omega 3s.

Dr Oz: Healthy Butter Spread Recipe

Blend a stick of real butter with 1/2 cup Hemp Seed Oil. This will create a healthy spread with butter flavor but half the saturated fat. It will also mix in Omega 3 Fatty Acids for a healthy butter spread.

Dr Oz: Avocado Oil Vision Benefits

Avocado Oil has anti-aging benefits for the eyes. Eating more Avocado Oil can help you improve your vision, whether or not it has been declining. Just substitute it for Olive Oil in a salad dressing recipe. This will help you absorb more vegetable nutrients, from tomatoes and carrots, for example.

Dr Oz: Peppermint Oil IBS

If you have an upset stomach, you may already know to try Peppermint Oil as a remedy. But did you know it can also benefit your overall digestive system?

Some studies find that Peppermint Oil is effective in relieving Irritable Bowel Syndrome symptoms.

This is an essential oil, meaning it is used sparingly, usually by the drop. Just be careful not to use too much, or you could have heartburn. Try adding a few drops to hot cocoa or tea to get the benefits.
