Dr Oz: Pop News With Lara Spencer

While Dr Oz was with Lara Spencer from Good Morning America, Dr Oz thought he’d have a little fun with some “Pop News” of his own. He and Lara teamed up to talk about some of the latest health-related headlines.

First, if you get less than six hours of sleep per night, your brain could actually be drowsier than your body is letting you believe. At the University of Utah, researchers found that the brains of people who claimed to feel awake on less than six hours of sleep, looked exactly like the brains of people who reported feeling tired.

Dr Oz: Are You Actually More Tired Than You Think?

Dr Oz explained that our brain can actually overwhelm us for a while and seemingly trick us into thinking we are more awake than we are. Lara admitted that she can sometimes get as little as four hours of sleep but when she gets to work she feels wide awake, likely because of the endorphins or adrenaline she gets from live TV, but then the minute she gets in the car she’s exhausted. That’s exactly why she ends up taking a 45-minute nap every day at about 10:00.
