Dr Oz asked Erin to join him, who had an interesting way to use coconut oil. She uses it to whiten her teeth by oil-pulling. She takes a tablespoon of coconut oil and gargles it around her mouth to remove the plague from her teeth and reduce bad bacteria. She said you don’t want to swallow it, though, because you don’t want to ingest the bad bacteria.

Marissa then shared that she uses coconut oil to shine her 100% leather shoes. Dr Oz showed a picture from Marissa’s closet that showed all the boots she has. No wonder she uses coconut oil! Simply use a towel to rub the coconut oil into your shoes and they’ll come out much shinier!

Dr Oz: Germ-Fighting Putty

Dr Oz then shared that he put germ-fighting putty to the test in his own home to clean the remotes, keyboard, shoes, and even his dog’s paws. Dr Oz explained that the putty uses best on high traffic areas like keyboards, cellphones, and remotes to get into the nooks and crannies to remove dirt and grime.

Dr Oz: Reduce Pain With Foam Roller

Finally, Dr Oz said one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to take care of pain in your own home is with a foam roller. You can use it to rub out scar tissue or massage your IT band right below your hip. Just lay down on the foam roller on your side with it right underneath your hip and roll up and down. If you keep at it, the tenderness will go away. You can find the foam rollers at any sporting good store.
