Dr Oz: Coconut Oil
Coconut Oil is something you have probably heard about from Dr Oz before. But did you know that you can use it for much more than just cooking? Dr Oz revealed some of the other ways you can put it to use around the house.
Dr Oz: Coconut Oil Earwax Remedy
Dr Oz met an audience member who loves using Coconut Oil to cook. But the first solution Dr Oz had for Coconut Oil is as a remedy for earwax. Don’t use a cotton swab, because that can compact the wax.
- Gently warm a bit of Coconut Oil.
- Tilt your head to one side.
- Use a dropper to add some Coconut Oil to your ear and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Then add a dropper of water to rinse out the ear and wash out the wash.
- Then you can repeat this with the other ear.
Dr Oz: Coconut Oil Makeup Remover
Do you have dry skin? If so, you might find that Coconut Oil makes a great moisturizer. But it can also be a fantastic makeup remover. Dab a cotton ball into the Coconut Oil and then use it to take off your makeup, while moisturizing your skin at the same time!
Dr Oz: Coconut Oil Deep-Conditioning Treatment
How can you use Coconut Oil as a Deep Conditioner? A viewer showed Dr Oz how easy it can be to combine Coconut Oil with a small amount of warm water in a small spray bottle. Shake the ingredients together. You can apply it wet or dry, and then just wash it out in the shower.
Dr Oz: Coconut Oil Moisturizing Shaving Cream
But the uses for Coconut Oil don’t stop there. If it is good for your hair and face, why not try it on the legs too? Dr Oz said he even tried this method, first whisking the Coconut Oil in an immersion blender (but he said you can skip that step and use it straight from the jar; alternately, beat it with a fork for a quick batch).
Men and women can try Coconut Oil as a shaving cream, as a viewer demonstrated when she agreed to show off this remedy. The oil will help the hairs stand up, which is a bonus.
