Dr Oz: Neem, Super Anti-Inflammatory Herb
Dr. Oz gave everyone in the audience an Ayurvedic skin type quiz to help them determine what kind of skin type they have. Did you take the test? Are you a Vata, a Pitta or a Kapha? Now that you have figured out your skin type, Dr. Oz and Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary have the solutions to help you improve your skin through diet and supplements.
Dr Oz: Vata Skin Type Diet
After you take Dr. Chaudhary’s Ayurvedic skin type quiz, she has some advice to help you improve your skin through diet. If you are a Vata skin type, that means your skin is dehydrated, thin and ages more quickly than the other skin types. But don’t worry. According to Dr. Chaudhary, you can treat your skin by fixing the underlying problems. Follow the advice below to get clearer, younger looking skin.
- Eat more whole grains
- Drink warm milk
- Eat more cooked vegetables and ginger
- Ashwagandha supplement -Take 500 MG two times per day to fight stress and improve your skin
- Avoid raw vegetables
Dr Oz: Pitta Skin Type Diet
Dr. Chaudhary explained that a person who has a Pitta skin type has more pink and red hues, along with freckles and moles on their skin, than people with other skin types. The Pitta skin type is also more prone to burning easily, more susceptible to rashes and more likely to flare up with acne. Dr. Chaudhary said it is important to add foods that will be cooling to your body and skin into your diet. Try some of the foods listed below.
- Sweet, watery fruits like melons, mangos and pears
- Coconut oil – can cook with it or apply directly to skin
- Rose jam
- Turmeric – add to some of your favorite recipes
- Fennel Seeds – chew a few seeds after every meal to help with digestion
- Amla berry – Take 250 MG per day
- Avoid spicy foods
Dr Oz: Kapha Skin Type Diet
If you took the Ayurvedic skin type quiz and determined you are a Kapha skin type that means your skin is very plump and moist. This type of skin is the most resilient to aging because it is naturally robust but it also accumulates more toxins than the other skin types. Try eating some of the food below to get rid of the toxins.
- Spicy foods, black pepper and garlic
- Guggul – Take 75-150 MG per day to boost your metabolism
- Avoid oily foods
Dr Oz: Neem Herb Pulls Toxins From Body
Dr. Chaudhary said there was super herb that would help all three skin types. The super herb is called neem, and you are going to want to add it to your shopping list because it helps pull toxins from the body, which in turn improves skin and your overall health. Neem will also kill bacteria, clear up acne on the skin and it acts as an anti-inflammatory.
