Dr Oz: Natural Pain Relief
Are you tired of the constant back pain, arthritis and headaches that have been plaguing you? You’re not alone, but Dr Oz tried to make the learning process fun by creating a game about natural pain relievers. Recently he featured Flat Tummy Jeopardy and 7 Day Natural Pain Solutions on his show, and he offered more advice about Devil’s Claw, Ginkgo, and Willow Bark in this segment. Play the Dr Oz Smackdown game and see how you score.
Dr Oz enlisted Wanda to play a game of Smackdown. She said her husband is the biggest pain in her life, and she typically reaches for Ibuprofen or whatever is in the medicine cabinet. Dr Oz put the possible answers to each question in front of Wanda, who was tasked with smacking down the wrong answers. Do you think you can do better than Wanda?
Dr Oz: Devil’s Claw Back Pain Remedy
Back pain can be treated with what natural pain reliever?
- Witch Hazel
- Devil’s Claw
- Dead Man’s Bells
Wanda scratched off Dead Man’s Bells first. Then she smacked down Devil’s Claw, guessing that Witch Hazel was correct.
But no! Dr Oz revealed that Devil’s Claw is the right answer. He said it “relieves swelling [and] soothes nerves.” He suggested 200 mg, three times per day.
Dr Oz: Willow Bark Arthritis Remedy
Arthritis can be treated with what natural anti-inflammatory?
- Oak Bark
- Willow Bark
- Cedar Bark
Wanda eliminated Cedar Bark and Oak Bark, guessing that Willow Bark is the answer.
She was right this time! Willow Bark has been used for centuries to treat conditions such as Arthritis, and it’s similar to Aspirin but has additional benefits. Dr Oz recommended a 500 mg dose twice daily.
Dr Oz: Ginkgo Headache Remedy
Which natural remedy is a great way to reduce headaches?
- St John’s Wort
The audience member scratched out St. John’s Wort and Ginkgo, leaving Ginseng as her answer. But she also asked her parents for a second opinion; they backed her up.
Dr Oz: Ginkgo Diabetes Warning
But the right answer, according to Dr Oz, was Ginkgo, which is also effective for some migraines. Dr Oz warned that this isn’t a great remedy for Diabetics, because it raises Insulin levels.
