Dr Oz: Restoring Hormones in the Body & Hormone Friendly Food Schedule

Dr Oz: Dancing Improves Mood

Dr. Oz and Dr. Natasha Turner went over the three different hormone types and gave everyone a hormone type quiz so everyone can figure out which hormone type they are and how they can get their hormones back in balance.

Dr Oz: Holy Basil Improves Blood Sugar In Hungry Hormone Types

Now that Dr. Oz went over the different hormone types, you can work on restoring the hormones that are important to your body’s everyday functioning. Dr. Turner told Dr. Oz any person with the hungry hormone type needs to restore insulin and cortisol in their body, but it can be hard because when we are low in these hormones everything we do tends to be wrong. People will often over exercise and try to skip meals which can be detrimental to the body. She suggested using holy basil to up those hormones.

  • Holy Basil – Dr. Turner explained holy basil is common in Asian cooking, but she recommended it in tea or supplement form. It will help to improve your blood sugar and get your appetite under control.

Dr Oz: Restoring Hormones in the Body & Hormone Friendly Food Schedule

Dr. Oz went over the techniques, like the hormone friendly food schedule, foods and supplements to restore hormones in your body, no matter what your hormone type is.

Dr Oz: Rhodiola Restores Serotonin In Moody Hormone Types

If you are a moody hormone type, you tend to be moody and irritable which can cause tension and headaches and lead to weight gain. Dr. Turner said everyone who has this hormone type needs to restore the “happy” hormones like serotonin and dopamine. She said the best way to restore those hormones is by taking a 200 mg Rhodiola supplement every morning for six weeks.

  • Rhodiola Supplement – Rhodiola can improve focus, attention and motivation while boosting your dopamine and serotonin and lowering your stress hormones.

Dr Oz: DHEA Supplement For Sluggish Hormone Types

If you are a sluggish hormone type you lack motivation, you are forgetful, you have premature wrinkling and a lot of your fat is in your belly, your arms or above your knees, according to Dr. Turner. The best ways to improve your hormones if you have this hormone type is with sleep and love making. Dr. Turner explained sleep will restore growth hormones and melatonin, while DHEA hormone levels rise when you are making love. If you want to boost your DHEA hormone, try taking 50-100 mg of the supplement listed below.

  • 7-Keto DHEA Supplement – Boost DHEA while reducing stress and inflammation and slowing down the aging process.

Dr Oz: Reset Hormones With Perfect Food Ratio

Dr. Turner said you can also reset your hormones with a few easy steps. The first step is using the perfect food ratio. This is achieved by eating a lean protein, a healthy fat and low-glycemic carbs at every meal. Here are some examples that would be good to mix together:

  • Lentils
  • Shrimp
  • Olives
  • Avocado
  • Whole grain pasta
  • Barley

Dr Oz: Hormone Friendly Food Schedule

The next step to reset your hormones is to follow a hormone friendly food schedule. Eating at the right time of the day is important because it will keep your metabolism working properly. Dr. Turner suggested following the eating schedule below:

  • Eat within one hour of waking up
  • Eat every 3-4 hours
  • Do not eat within three hours of bedtime. Eating too close to bedtime will affect your sleep and lower certain hormones.

Dr Oz: Smart Source Foods, Organic Foods Restore Hormones

The final step to resetting your hormones is choosing smart source foods. Dr. Turner explained smart source foods are foods without any chemicals, pesticides or added hormones which can disrupt your own hormones. She suggest thinking local, organic or even wild when making your food choices.

Dr Oz: Harlem Shake

Dr. Oz is always praising dancing for its ability to improve mood, improve coordination and as a great way to exercise, so he got together with several volunteers and made his own Harlem Shake video.

About the author

After graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Journalism and Anthropology, I managed a pizza place for a year, while freelancing for various newspapers in the area. Working every weekend in sauna like conditions, never being able to take a day off and being covered in flour is something I will not miss. I hope Recapo has air conditioning.
