Dr Oz Cancer Fighter Foods: Folate, Lutein, Lycopene & Quercetin

Dr Oz: Cancer Fighter Foods

Dr Oz devoted his entire show to talking about cancer warning signs we can all watch for in our own lives. Whether you need to know about Pancreatic Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, or Stomach Cancer, you are probably going to learn something new. Now that we know some of the symptoms, what can we do to lower our risks? Dr Oz has some ideas about that as well, and they start with a rich diet of Dr Oz cancer fighter foods.

Dr Oz Cancer Fighter Foods: Tomatoes Lycopene & Berry Antioxidants

Dr Oz said that you can quickly assess the nutrient content of any fresh food by how colorful it is. Many fresh foods such as fruits and vegetables have cancer fighting properties, and here are a few red foods you can incorporate to fight Pancreatic Cancer and Ovarian Cancer.

  • Red Bell Peppers – Rich in flavonoids
  • TomatoesLycopene fights cancer
  • Fresh Berry – Loaded with antioxidants

Some orange foods that Dr Oz recommended are all loaded with fiber, which is important in preventing some forms of cancer. Many of them also contain beta carotene, according to Dr Robynne Chutkan. Apricots contain quercetin, a key antioxidant. Here are some other orange foods to eat at least twice weekly.

Dr Oz Cancer Fighter Foods: Folate, Lutein, Lycopene & Quercetin

Dr Oz cancer fighter foods can lower your risks of developing various types of cancer thanks to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory health benefits.

  • Pumpkin
  • Mango
  • Sweet Potato
  • Carrot

Dr Oz Cancer Fighter Foods: Citrus & Esophageal Cancer

Yellow foods fight stomach cancer and esophageal cancer using Vitamin C and detoxifying flavonoids. They can also boost the immune system. Some yellow foods to look out for include lemon and grapefruit.

Dr Oz Cancer Fighters: Folate in Kale & Spinach

Green foods are proven cancer fighters, and most Americans are definitely not getting enough of these in their diets. Lighter green foods can cause gas, so watch out for that with cabbage or brussels sprouts, but know that the gas is nothing to be concerned about.

Darker greens such as kale and spinach are rich in cancer-fighting Folate, while the light greens have Lutein to prevent cancer. Try incorporating greens twice a day in your diet.

Dr Oz Cancer Foods: Mushrooms, Garlic & Onion

The last color on Dr Oz’s Cancer Fighting Food rainbow is white foods. These are great in preventing Colon Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, and Stomach Cancer. Some of these include:

  • Mushrooms
  • Garlic
  • Onions

Mushrooms are rich in Vitamin D, and Dr Oz said you should be getting at least one white food from the list each day to lower your risks.

Dr Oz: Cancer Detection Saves Lives

Lisa, a Dr Oz viewer, wrote the show to report that Dr Oz saved her life. After seeing a previous show about Ovarian Cancer, she visited her doctor and learned she in fact did have Ovarian Cancer. Her treatment is going well, but she wanted to thank Dr Oz for potentially saving her life. Maybe this info can save other lives also. Spread the word.

  • Great info here. It seems like every week a new study comes out telling us how important green veggies are. Now if only the government would treat green food farmers as good as they do meat and corn farmers.
