Dr Oz: 3-Day Fat Flush

Dr. Mark Hyman has developed a three-day plan with healthy, low-fat foods that he claims can fight inflammation, decrease insulin resistance, rid your body of toxins, and flush your fat. Dr. Oz had nine of his viewers try the plan to see if actually works.

Dr. Hyman explained that our brains are hooked on sugar and flour and if we change what we eat, we don’t have to worry about how much we eat. He sad you’re changing your hormones and your brain chemistry with every bite you take.

Dr. Hyman said the most important part of his plan is the prep. The first part is to go shopping and get “the fat flushers” like the fibers, protein, fruits, and healthy fats. He also said that the night before, you want to make sure you’re making and using the secret ingredient for the fat flush which is the fat flush broth.

Dr Oz: 3-Day Fat Flush Broth

Dr. Hyman said the broth gives you energy, satisfies your appetite, and is full of great ingredients, vitamins, and minerals.


One woman lost five pounds doing Dr. Hyman’s fat flush and she said the broth was instrumental to her weight loss. She shared that she’s not a vegetable person, but the broth slowly grew on her. Dr. Hyman explained that your taste buds are “hijacked by processed foods” so as you drink the broth and change your diet, you develop more of a liking to the broth. Dr. Oz then shared some of the broth with a few of his audience members who said it was bland but not bad.

Dr Oz: Flush Fat With Fatty Acids

Dr. Oz explained that the next part of the plan was to flush fat using fatty acids. Dr. Hyman said nuts and seeds are great sources of good fats, and explained that you should try to get omega-3 fatty acids first thing in the morning, and try to eat about 2-3 handfuls of the seeds and nuts.

He said the fatty acids speed your metabolism, stop the hunger hormone, and switch you from fat storing to fat flushing. To flush your fat with fatty acids every morning, you can make the fatty acid breakfast shake. One woman shared that to switch her waffles for the shake was difficult, but it got easier. Dr. Oz loved the shake and said he could tell it would keep him full for a while.

Dr Oz: Flush Your Digestive Tract

Dr. Hyman said it was key to go to the bathroom every day in order to get rid of waste. He explained that if you haven’t gone to the bathroom by 10 a.m., you want to have a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil stirred into eight ounces of warm water. He said it will flush out the waste. One woman said it took a few hours, but it definitely worked for her.

Dr Oz: Protein & Fiber To Flush Fat

Dr. Hyman then explained that if you eat 3-4 ounces of protein with 2 cups of fiber twice a day, it will help speed up your metabolism and save you even just a few calories a day, which will add up. Some ideal combinations include chicken and brown rice, and tofu and sauteed vegetables. One woman who lost three pounds on the fat flush said she would eat her power-combo meals with the broth on the side.

Dr. Hyman said you can keep following the plan after three days, or you can slowly incorporate foods back in to your diet. He said you just need to switch out the good for the bad. Dr. Oz suggested doing the plan every time the weather changes.

Dr Oz: Fat Flush Broth Recipe Ingredients

  • 3 quarts water
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 1 C roughly chopped white radish root
  • 1 C diced winter squash
  • 2 C roughly chopped kale
  • 1 C diced turnips
  • 2 stalks of celery, diced
  • 1/2 C chopped dried seaweed
  • 1/2 C shredded cabbage
  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 C shiitake mushrooms

Dr Oz: Fat Flush Broth Recipe Directions

  1. Add all the ingredients at once and place on a low boil for approximately 60 minutes.
  2. Simply continue to boil and taste.
  3. Cool, strain and store in a large, tightly sealed glass container in the fridge.
  4. Heat gently and drink three to four cups a day.

Dr Oz: Fatty Acid Breakfast Shake Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 C unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 C raw almonds or pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 C almond butter
  • 1 C strawberries
  • 2 tsp organic flax oil

  1. Add all ingredients into a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.

    Dear Dr. Oz,
    I would like to lose weight, Not much, maybe 25 to 30 pounds. I’m just 135, I was 140 Last year. But I’m only 5 feet tall, I have no one to be a partner. My husband will not help me either, I did lose 15 last year on my own and told no one I was on this diet, (it was Nutrasystem Which worked great for me) But now that my husband found out I can’t buy it anymore. He cooks and shops all the time and he doesn’t eat my cooking or let me shop for the food I want. If I don’t eat his cooking he acts like a women and said I”m not going to cook anymore. Put me on a guilt trip and I have to eat his food. So I’ve gain my 15 pounds back. and If I put small amount on my plate he gets upset and said he not going to cook anymore, and He buys sweets and Ice cream. It’s so frustrating. Every time I watch your show, He gets up and walks out of the room. He doesn’t believe you. I was wondering if I’m the only one that might be having this problems. I’m so unhappy with my weight. It’s not must but I do want to be healthier. I felt so good when I weigh less. Just I thought I would let someone know.

    Wow the man is taking over your life. I get it Nutrasystem is costly however he could buy healthy
    food for you. Not letting you go shopping he sounds very controlling. Take a stand for you life, health and live it for you.

    Sounds like he is manipulating your emotions and then attacks you. You are the boss of your own body, do not let anyone rule over you like that. Live by the Golden Rule, cut your losses and move on, before he really takes over your entire self esteem. Women tend to put on a few as we get older. So it will take time for you to loose the weight, but I believe in you. He is very controlling and not healthy, you need to move on without him. This is an unhealthy growing pattern, it is not his birthright to treat like that.

    Sweet Sarah. Your husband is afraid for you to lose weight and look good. Sit on his lap and say Honey, I need this to feel better about myself and to be healthy. Please help me. If he can’t or won’t, then it’s your decision on what you want to do with the rest of your life. be well.

    If he says he’s not going to cook for you any more say GOOD!! And Go to the store buy your own food and cook what you want. If he won’t eat your food then he can go buy and cook his own!!!

    Sarah you are grown and must choose for yourself. If you are unhappy with the way you look and feel then cook for yourself. Take a stand eat what is healthy for you. If you work buy what you want to eat. Let your husband eat what he wants. If he buys sweet refused to eat it. It appears you are in a controlling relationship and you need to take control of yourself. Love yourself praise yourself and don’t wait for approval from your husband. You are free to do what pleases you.

    Hey Sarah, There is no need to up and leave your husband over this. Try to understand his point of view. Most likely he is offended when you don’t eat his cooking or take little portions because cooking is an act of love and service. When we cook we want our loved ones to eat it without complaining and to thank us for our time and effort. Women can surely understand this. I am guilty of it too. First reassure your husband that you enjoy his cooking and tell him how thankful you are that he is willing to do the cooking, then simply explain what your goals are. Tell him in advance what you are planning to eat so he doesn’t waste his time cooking a large meal that will go to waste. He may still react in a negative way, it is possible by inviting him to join you he may interpret that as you are not satisfied with the way he looks or his weight. Communication is key. If you explain that you need his help and support, and that you want to look and feel your best for you and for him, he should be able to understand that even if he doesn’t want to be a part of it. I have learned that when man act this way it usually comes from a place of fear. I agree that you must not let his negative feelings about weight loss manipulate you, just keep trying to reassure him that you love him as you continue to work on yourself.

    Sarah, Your husband’s behavior is considered abuse. I don’t know if you don’t want to hear it or if you just don’t know it. But it is. He is emotionally abusing you and as a survivor of domestic abuse I can tell you it only gets worse the more you push. You need to RUN away from this man before it gets worse. I’ll pray for you.

    I think this sounds interesting…but there is no liquid type or measurement included in the BROTH recipe. How’s that work?
