Dr Oz: 3-Day Fat Flush
Dr. Mark Hyman has developed a three-day plan with healthy, low-fat foods that he claims can fight inflammation, decrease insulin resistance, rid your body of toxins, and flush your fat. Dr. Oz had nine of his viewers try the plan to see if actually works.
Dr. Hyman explained that our brains are hooked on sugar and flour and if we change what we eat, we don’t have to worry about how much we eat. He sad you’re changing your hormones and your brain chemistry with every bite you take.
Dr. Hyman said the most important part of his plan is the prep. The first part is to go shopping and get “the fat flushers” like the fibers, protein, fruits, and healthy fats. He also said that the night before, you want to make sure you’re making and using the secret ingredient for the fat flush which is the fat flush broth.
Dr Oz: 3-Day Fat Flush Broth
Dr. Hyman said the broth gives you energy, satisfies your appetite, and is full of great ingredients, vitamins, and minerals.
One woman lost five pounds doing Dr. Hyman’s fat flush and she said the broth was instrumental to her weight loss. She shared that she’s not a vegetable person, but the broth slowly grew on her. Dr. Hyman explained that your taste buds are “hijacked by processed foods” so as you drink the broth and change your diet, you develop more of a liking to the broth. Dr. Oz then shared some of the broth with a few of his audience members who said it was bland but not bad.
Dr Oz: Flush Fat With Fatty Acids
Dr. Oz explained that the next part of the plan was to flush fat using fatty acids. Dr. Hyman said nuts and seeds are great sources of good fats, and explained that you should try to get omega-3 fatty acids first thing in the morning, and try to eat about 2-3 handfuls of the seeds and nuts.
He said the fatty acids speed your metabolism, stop the hunger hormone, and switch you from fat storing to fat flushing. To flush your fat with fatty acids every morning, you can make the fatty acid breakfast shake. One woman shared that to switch her waffles for the shake was difficult, but it got easier. Dr. Oz loved the shake and said he could tell it would keep him full for a while.
Dr Oz: Flush Your Digestive Tract
Dr. Hyman said it was key to go to the bathroom every day in order to get rid of waste. He explained that if you haven’t gone to the bathroom by 10 a.m., you want to have a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil stirred into eight ounces of warm water. He said it will flush out the waste. One woman said it took a few hours, but it definitely worked for her.
Dr Oz: Protein & Fiber To Flush Fat
Dr. Hyman then explained that if you eat 3-4 ounces of protein with 2 cups of fiber twice a day, it will help speed up your metabolism and save you even just a few calories a day, which will add up. Some ideal combinations include chicken and brown rice, and tofu and sauteed vegetables. One woman who lost three pounds on the fat flush said she would eat her power-combo meals with the broth on the side.
Dr. Hyman said you can keep following the plan after three days, or you can slowly incorporate foods back in to your diet. He said you just need to switch out the good for the bad. Dr. Oz suggested doing the plan every time the weather changes.
Dr Oz: Fat Flush Broth Recipe Ingredients
- 3 quarts water
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 1 C roughly chopped white radish root
- 1 C diced winter squash
- 2 C roughly chopped kale
- 1 C diced turnips
- 2 stalks of celery, diced
- 1/2 C chopped dried seaweed
- 1/2 C shredded cabbage
- 1 small piece of fresh ginger
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 C shiitake mushrooms
Dr Oz: Fat Flush Broth Recipe Directions
- Add all the ingredients at once and place on a low boil for approximately 60 minutes.
- Simply continue to boil and taste.
- Cool, strain and store in a large, tightly sealed glass container in the fridge.
- Heat gently and drink three to four cups a day.
Dr Oz: Fatty Acid Breakfast Shake Recipe Ingredients
- 2 C unsweetened almond milk
- 1/2 C raw almonds or pumpkin seeds
- 1/4 C almond butter
- 1 C strawberries
- 2 tsp organic flax oil

- Add all ingredients into a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
