Dr Oz: Drugstore Hair Care
Dr Oz’s recent shows have featured Anti-Aging Spices and Supermarket Comfort Foods. But what about beauty products? Did you see the segment about Plastic Surgery Alternatives? Next, Dr Oz turned to hair cair solutions, including Tresemme Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo, Giovanni Colorflage Daily Color Defense and more.
To help us take a fresh approach to hair care, Dr Oz invited Molly Nover-Baker from Women’s Health to share some solutions, creative remedies, and product reviews. Check out these ideas to keep your hair shiny and vibrant year round.
Tresemme Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo Review
Dr Oz said that Tresemme Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo is perfect for limp or oily hair. Molly said that dry shampoo is key when dealing with oily hair, and it can give you texture to help maintain style throughout the day.
Audience member Carmela stepped up to give the treatment a try. It was applied in short bursts, about 6” from the scalp. Part your hair into sections and blend it into your hair for a uniform look. Apparently, this product can also help lift your hair from the roots.
Dryer Sheets & Frizzy Hair
Dryer Sheets can do more than keep your clothes static-free. Did you know they can also keep your hair from being frizzy? Frizzled hair is the result of low oil gland production. Dryer Sheets or Static Spray can neutralize the resulting negative charge, just like with your laundry. Just smooth a dryer sheet through your hair to get it under control.
Giovanni Colorflage Daily Color Defense Review
Dr Oz also reviewed Giovanni Colorflage Daily Color Defense. It’s designed for faded, dull, or overprocessed hair. If you’ve used color in your hair, and especially if color treatment went wrong, this product could help you get back to hair health. It’s designed for daily use, and it contains UV filters and antioxidants to prevent fading caused by the sun.
Sunscreen Split End Remedy
Did you know that you probably already have the remedy for split ends among your beauty supplies? Sunscreen can actually repair hair breakage and cure split ends. That’s because it contains Vitamin E and Silicone Polymers that help nourish and rebuild your hair.
You’ll have to cut and remove the split ends you already have, but using sunscreen should prevent future split ends from forming. Just rub a pea-sized amount on the ends of your hair strands. But stick to the edges, because Sunscreen can weigh your hair down.
I never would have thought of these out of the box hair care ideas. Let me know if they work out for you.
