Dr Oz conducted a 21-Day Experiment to put some of the most popular heath tricks and natural remedies to the test. He had volunteers try everything from giving up sugar to drinking a turmeric tonic or medicinal mushrooms. He then welcomed YouTube star Ellie Kodia for the final experiment. He wanted to find out if charcoal toothpaste could really whiten your teeth. She used it twice a day for 21 days and explained that for the first few days her gums were really sore but after the first week it got a lot better and her teeth definitely seemed whiter.

Ellie explained that she was hoping for more whiteness than she got, but her teeth certainly felt cleaner. The before and after certainly showed a difference, button as dramatic as the ads show. You can buy charcoal toothpaste or you can dip your toothbrush in water before dipping into charcoal powder and brushing you teeth. Don’t be surprised when you teeth look black while brushing for two minutes!
