The Doctors: Pimple-Popping Viral Video
The Doctors warned everyone before sharing a viral video that was pretty graphic, to say the least. One mom took a video while squeezing a pimple on her daughter’s ear, only to have a long string of yellow pus come out. Dr Sandra Lee said a lot of people are incredibly satisfied watching videos like that.
The Doctors were then joined via Skype by the mother and her daughter from the video. Dr Lee explained that it was similar to a standard cyst, but it was an ear pit, which is different than a regular cyst because Camille was actually born with it. Basically, she has an incomplete fusion in her ear that creates a pouch under the skin. Skin flakes into the area, but it’s completely benign. Basically this is going to keep happening, but they have to be careful when squeezing it to avoid an infection.
The Doctors: Work Requires Doctors Note For Sick Days
When you’re really feeling bad, sometimes it can be a tough decision when determining whether to stay home or drag yourself into work. After one man learned that his office required a note from a doctor for every missed day of work, the man’s boss received a very angry note from the man’s doctor.
“You feel his time and mine should be wasted by making him sit in the walk-in clinic for hours. And me spending time writing a sick note that I could be spending on people who genuinely need my attention. There are surely better ways of wasting your tax dollars,” the note read.
The Doctors applauded the doctor, and said they understand the sick note idea, but if you’re sick, sometimes you really don’t want to have to get out and go see a doctor. What do you think? Should bosses require sick notes?
The Doctors: Shopping At The Dollar Store
Dr Rachael Ross wanted to share some tips on saving money on health products, with the help of Michelle Katz. Michelle had some great do’s and don’ts for shopping at the dollar store. Go ahead and get yourself some reading glasses and pregnancy tests from the dollar store because they work well enough to serve the purpose you’re buying them for. As for kids’ toys, you want to avoid them because many of them are choking hazards and have high lead levels.
While you’re at the dollar store, stock up on first aid supplies like gauze pads, wraps, and bandages.
The Doctors: Tooth Fairy Money
A recent survey found that the average payment, per tooth, from the tooth fairy has decreased for the second year in a row, to $3.19 a tooth. Former teen mom star Farrah Abraham made headlines after her daughter received $600 from the tooth fairy, but then later explained that it was an addition to her daughter’s college fund. Dr Travis joked that if he got that much, he would make it rain!
Rain was the word of the day and you can use the word rain to enter for a chance to win your own pink Aquarius Water Flosser.

The Doctors: Fresh Empire Anti-Smoking Campaign
A multi-million dollar anti-smoking campaign is about to drop, using hip hop as away to connect to youth. The FDA campaign is titled Fresh Empire and will launch in connection with the BET hip hop awards. The campaign is targeted to African-Americans and hispanics, partly because research shows minorities are more likely to smoke than their peers. The 2-year campaign is about “empowering this at-risk peer crowd to live tobacco free.”
The Doctors: Shania Twain Health Issues
Shania Twain is about to end her 2015 tour, but earlier this week she had to cancel two of her last U.S. concerts because of an upper respiratory infection. She posted an apology to fans on Facebook and was prescribed several days of rest by her doctors, before being able to get back on stage.
The Doctors: Eat Spicy Food To Prolong Your Life
Finally, to add more years to your life, eat more spicy food! A recent Chinese study looked at almost half a million people and found that those who ate a spicier diet reduced their overall risk of death. Throw on some peppers, chili flakes, or hot sauce, but don’t go too far overboard!
