Dr Oz shared his natural mood boosters, including a Ginger Blitz Cocktail Recipe.

With a combined 60 years of experience, Barry Michaels and Phil Stutz have seen a lot of situations and patients. They combined some of their best solutions into The Tools, a self help book that empowers people to make life changes as soon as they are ready.

Dr Oz: The Tools & Disease

Katie in the audience has been struggling to break out of a rut. She loves food and can’t seem to stick to a diet. Barry and Phil shared one of their tools from the book, called Reversal of Disease, which helps you understand your struggle and navigate an uncomfortable situation.

Katie admitted she’s uncomfortable when she can’t have snacks because she is dieting. The Reversal of Disease tool helps users push through temporary bad moods or discomfort to accomplish a long term goal. In Katie’s case, the goal is weight loss.

Here are the three steps for The Tool: Reversal of Disease.

  1. Scream “Bring on the pain!” This will help you free yourself of a bad habit.
  2. Learn to love the pain by understanding that it is part of the pursuit of your goal.
  3. Break through your pain and say “pain sets me free.”

Dr Oz: The Tools & Facing Fears

Alicia admitted to The Tools authors that she isn’t comfortable with her body and has a negative self-image. All she sees in the mirror are her flaws, and she can’t stop worrying about them. Phil and Barry recommended another tool from their book, called Facing The Shadow.

They explained that we all carry shadows in our lives, which represent insecurities we hope to overcome. There are three steps to this tool as well.

  1. Look at your reflection or a picture of yourself.
  2. Focus all your attention on you.
  3. Face other people and silently command attention by screaming “Listen!” in your head.

Dr Oz: Caffeinated Lotion

Dr Oz shared three more mood boosting solutions he thinks can help people break out of bad habits or ruts, without needing medication, such as his Ginger Blitz Cocktail Recipe. First on his list was Caffeinated Lotion, which contains the same amount of caffeine as ½ a cup of coffee. If you’re going to be moisturizing anyway, why not get a little pick me up at the same time.

Dr Oz: Moroccan Spice Blend

A blend of Moroccan spices can help you get a natural boost and put a smile on your face. This spicy concoction has been passed down for years and used for natural anxiety relief. It’s easy to mix into soups or meat dishes, adding flair, flavor and fuel to your meal and your mood.
