Dr Oz: Effects Of Stress On Health
Dr. Oz explained that stress can add up and take a big toll on your health. It’s even possible to make yourself sick from stress. One woman shared that she works full-time as a flight attendant and is going through a divorce. She also has a 17-year-old and a 3-year-old. She also shared that nutritionally she isn’t very healthy at all, constantly snacking on peanuts and pretzels, and because of her lack of nutrition, she only has a bowel movement once a week. She’s also a horrible sleeper and five days out of seven she’ll wake up with a headache.
Janie said that since she got divorced, she had to move and had to start working a lot more. She also shared that she has to-do lists everywhere and is constantly wondering about what needs to be done for herself and her kids. She’s even losing her voice, which could be associated with stress. Dr. Oz said it’s important for her to focus on herself and fix how she takes care of herself, in order to set a good example for her kids.
Dr Oz: When Stress Takes A Toll On Your Health
Janie struggled with headaches, constipation, and insomnia, getting approximately five hours of sleep a night if she’s lucky. Dr. Oz said he believes all the issues are symptoms of stress. He explained that there’s a device called a biofeedback device that you can wear to measure the effects of stress on your body. Janie wore the device and measured six stressful responses a day, which is a lot. Dr. Oz wanted Janie to conquer the stress by understanding why it was happening.
Dr. Oz said he wanted to bring the number of stress responses down to help Janie finally live a happier life. Janie was very excited to hear that there may be a solution for her.
