Iyanla Vanzant: Causes Of Emotional Pain
Dr. Oz and his guest, motivational speaker Iyanla Vanzant, went over the three causes of emotional pain as Vanzant told Dr. Oz’s audience about how she let herself go crazy after her daughter died from a rare form of colon cancer.
Iyanla Vanzant: Emotional Freedom Technique
Iyanla Vanzant said the first step in healing pain is allowing yourself to feel the pain. Your pain needs to come to the surface and you need to not be afraid of the pain. Vanzant said dealing with the pain head on is the healthiest way to confront the pain and move forward with your life. People oftentimes hold on to the pain and the hurt because it feels familiar to them. But this pain and hurt they hold on to could be making them sick with a number of illnesses.
One technique Vanzant said works well in dealing with emotional pain is something called emotional freedom. This involves tapping the outside of your hand with your other hand while talking your way through bringing your pain to the surface.
Dr Oz: Start Your Day Green To Stop Being Stuck In Life
Iyanla Vanzant is a life coach, motivational speaker and host of OWN’s Iyanla: Fix My Life, which makes her a pretty big expert on getting your life on track. While talking with Dr. Oz, Vanzant shared the three life habits she uses to stop herself from getting stuck in life.
Start Your Day Green – Iyanla says she loves wheat grass so she begins every day by drinking wheat grass juice. This is the perfect way to get a healthy and nutritious start to your day.
Soak Your Stress Away – Vanzant said she bathes with epsom salts because they pull out all the toxins in her body. She said this is a great way for women to spend 20 minutes by themselves after a long day. You can even try adding a few drops of lavender oil for even more relaxation.
5 For 5 Workout Technique – Vanzant admitted she hates to work out which is why she created the 5 For 5. This technique consists of picking five exercises you sort of enjoy and doing five reps of each for five minutes every day. She likes to do jumping jacks, push-ups, crunches, deep knee bends and lunges as her five exercises for the day.
