Dr Oz: Sleep Stress Secrets
Are you tossing and turning, lying awake at night? Do you ever wonder what Dr Oz or other medical experts use to fall asleep at night? After taking us on a tour of Dr Oz’s Kitchen and Dr Oz’s Medicine Cabinet, the man had one last stop for us.
Dr Oz wanted to take you in the bedroom and help you de-stress your life so you can get better sleep. He shared the routine and products he uses to get himself ready for a good night’s sleep.
Dr Oz: Yoga & Meditation De-Stress
He said that stress is the #1 factor that results in the body’s aging. That’s why he makes sure to spend time playing with the family dog, Rosie, for 15 minutes after a long day at work. He said that interacting with his four-legged buddy is a wonderful way to let his stress melt away. What works for you to shut down stress?
Dr Oz also recommended doing a little Yoga to help yourself unwind. He even did a demonstration of Child’s Pose in the middle of his living room as an example. Dr Oz also enjoys meditation to help himself relax both his body and mind.
Dr Oz: Lavender Potpourri
Back from Dr Oz’s house and in the audience, Tanya said she is a busy single mother. She likes to unwind in a bubble bath after her long days, sipping on a cup of Jasmine Tea.
Dr Oz told her to try adding a homemade potpourri as another stress busting technique. He said you can just mix Lavender, Rosemary, and Cinnamon in a sock. Then leave it in a bedroom drawer or keep it under your pillow.
Dr Oz: Goodnighties Sleepwear Review
Dr Oz had another recommendation for people who have trouble cooling down while going to sleep. He said that maintaining a comfortable temperature is key to getting good sleep. One way to do this is by wearing a big T-shirt to sleep in.
You could also check out the Goodnighties Sleepwear he featured on the show. Its material helps control excess moisture and keep you cool throughout the day.
Dr Oz: Orange Infused Coconut Oil
If none of these ideas work to help you relax and get ready for bed, maybe this last one will do the trick. Dr Oz suggested putting Orange and Coconut Oil in a bottle, letting it infuse for 10 to 12 hours. Then put a drop of this mixture on your finger and use it to massage your temples.
This is supposed to relieve tension headaches and lower your body’s level of stress hormones.
