Dr Oz: Sleep Study & How Well Are Americans Sleeping?
Recently, Dr Oz conducted the biggest national sleep survey ever done in order to get to the bottom of the biggest sleep problems and end the exhaustion crisis for good. Volunteers used sleep trackers in their homes across the country to help answer some of the biggest sleep-related questions out there. The biggest questions he hoped to answer were:
- What’s the state of our nation’s sleep?
- Is caffeine or alcohol keeping you up?
- How much does exercise really help?
The two tools Dr Oz utilized were author of “The Power of When” sleep doctor, Dr Michael Breus and the S+ Sleep Tracker. It was found that almost 80% of people are sleeping less than seven hours a night. Men on average sleep 5 hours and 45 minutes while women average 6 hours and nine minutes. Less than six and a half hours of sleep puts you in the “danger zone” and could put your health at risk as well as other aspects of your life.
