Dr Oz: Sleep Position Affects a Good Night’s Sleep
While you may have never thought it, the way you sleep can make a difference in how well you sleep. Dr. Oz called on the help of Dr. Carol Ash to go over the different sleep positions and explain which one is the best for a good night’s sleep.
Benefits Of Sleeping On Your Back
Carol Ash, a sleep specialist, said finding the right sleep position is important because it can make you more comfortable and may help with health problems you have as well.
Side Sleeper: Ash said sleeping on your side can cause problems with your hips and shoulders. She said it could also be a sign you have seasonal allergies or other upper respiratory problems. To help alleviate these potential problems, Ash suggested sleeping with a thick pillow to fill the gap between your neck and mattress and use a small pillow to support the area between your knees. This will offer more support for your legs and back.
Back Sleeper: Ash said sleeping on your back is the best for alignment and comfort and it will give you the best night’s sleep. She added that it is also good for getting rid of wrinkles.
Consumer Reports – Rolling Papers Stop Bleeding Effectively
Consumer Reports has always been one of the most helpful guides to turn to when looking to purchase a new car or a new television. Dr. Oz turned to Gayle Williams, Deputy Health Editor, to go over the best health must-haves everyone needs. While some of them might sound strange, Williams has some unique ideas for using these products to make you healthier.
Cigarette Rolling Papers: Williams said rolling papers are a great way to stop bleeding on your face. According to her, they work even better than tissues or gauze.
100% Pure Shea Butter: Shea butter is an excellent moisturizer for the skin and helps diminish the appearance of wrinkles while healing dry, cracked skin. Dr. Oz said he loves this product because it is great for reducing inflammation as well as protecting the skin from further damage.
Distilled White Vinegar: Distilled white vinegar can relieve itchy bug bites. It can also be used to clean every surface in your home.
Meat Thermometer: People get sick from meat all the time because they do not cook the meat long enough, so Williams suggested everyone purchase a meat thermometer. This essential tool will help you cook your meat thoroughly.
One trick I learned while working in restaurants is to stick a knife into the meat when you believe it is done. Then take the knife and press it against your bottom lip since this is a spot with a lot of nerves. If the knife is really hot, the meat is cooked through.
